“The original. New thought!“: Under this motto, KOSTAL is launching the third generation of its all-in-one inverter, PLENTICORE, onto the market. This all-rounder can be used as a PV, hybrid, or battery inverter either individually or in combination with other devices, and is compatible with many battery systems such as the BYD Battery-Box Premium. With the new models, however, our partner is setting new standards in terms of cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and innovation.
The most important aspect first: With the introduction of the 3rd generation, PLENTICORE will now be available in only three hardware variants: S, M, and L. All three basic variants (the S model with 4.0 kW, the M model with 8.5 kW, and the L variant with 15 kW base power) can be optionally expanded in two stages using the new KOSTAL purpose voucher, PLENTICOIN, resulting in a total of nine power classes. KOSTAL expects significant advantages for solar construction and trade in terms of inventory management and system planning with this approach. With the optional power and battery expansion, the suitable device for each project is always available, thus offering even greater flexibility.
New are four power classes in the upper segment: 12.5 kW, 15 kW, 17.5 kW, and 20 kW. In total, the following power levels can be achieved with the base unit and the use of one to two PLENTICOINs:
The launch of the G3 inverters will take place in stages: Starting from April 2024, the PLENTICORE G3 L models will reach our warehouse. The S and M models are expected to follow in the summer of 2024. They will gradually replace the proven G2 models only at that time. We will keep you informed about the exact dates as usual through the usual channels.
In addition to the comprehensive functionality known from the 2nd generation, such as self-learning shadow management, "SG-ready" interface, and commissioning via app, web interface, or display, the new models offer several new features:
- 3 MPP trackers starting from 4 kW
- Works with as few as 3 modules (or an input voltage of 75V)
- Backup power capability on 3 phases: The backup function is manually activated using an external switching device. An automatic switching function (e.g., via an enwitec-Box) will be implemented in the 2nd step.
- Optional retrofit of DC overvoltage protection.
- Significant increase in maximum input current: 17 A for the S variant, 30 A for the M and L variants (previously 13 A per MPP input)
- Activation code – pay only once, benefit permanently
The comprehensive equipment is backed by the KOSTAL warranty: 5 years upon activation of the Smart Warranty in the KOSTAL Solar Webshop, and an additional 5 years on materials upon registration of the solar system in the KOSTAL Solar Portal.
