The KOSTAL PLENTICORE plus G2 has received a performance upgrade. With the software update to version 2.20, the maximum input current per MPP tracker has been increased from 13 to 15 amps. This allows the hybrid inverter to be easily combined with the latest generation of high-performance PV modules that deliver higher currents, making it even more attractive for new installations and repowering projects.
In addition to greater flexibility in system planning and higher yields, especially on roofs with limited space or different orientations, the 15 A expansion enables a higher charging and discharging power for connected battery storage systems (e.g., the Battery Box HVS+, HVM+, and HVB) by around 15 percent.
By the way: From the second quarter of 2026, the PLENTICORE G2 is also expected to be compatible with KOSTAL's own HELIVOR HV battery storage system – meaning your customers can opt for a complete system with components from a single source. Good to know: Activating the battery function on the G2 model still requires only one PLENTICOIN (instead of the original three).
The new software also incorporates the modern web design of the PLENTICORE G3. As a result, operation across the current KOSTAL PLENTICORE series becomes more consistent and intuitive for solar professionals.
What changes with the software update

The software is automatically installed via the integrated AutoUpdate function: The PLENTICORE plus G2 detects the new software, downloads it, and installs it automatically — without any effort on your part. Simply make sure to activate the Automatic Update function during initial commissioning.
