19.01.2026 - SMA Sunny Tripower X 50 & 60 – More power, more intelligence

SMA is expanding its portfolio for commercial photovoltaic systems with the Sunny Tripower X 50 and Sunny Tripower X 60 — future-ready, three-phase inverters that combine high performance, flexible system integration, and advanced energy management functions.
Both variants are ideally suited for use on commercial rooftops, carports, and ground-mounted PV projects.

With an AC output of up to 60 kW at 400 V grid voltage, the inverters support both high-current and bifacial PV modules. Five independent MPP trackers, each with two string inputs, enable flexible system design for different roof incli-nations, orientations, and module configurations, supporting targeted yield optimization.

Available in the 50 kW and 60 kW power classes, both variants share the same system architecture and identical functional features. The Sunny Tripower X 60, however, offers a higher DC input capacity, allowing for greater PV generator oversizing. This provides additional planning flexibility, particularly when using high-performance modules and where the number of grid connection points is limited.

Highlights at a glance:

  • Up to 60 kW three-phase AC power for commercial PV systems
  • 5 MPP trackers with a total of 10 DC inputs for maximum flexibility in complex roof layouts
  • Integrated System Manager for centralized control of multiple inverters without an external data logger
  • SMA ArcFix arc-fault protection for active fire prevention
  • SMA ShadeFix for optimized yields even under partial shading
  • Seamless integration into SMA ennexOS / Sunny Portal for monitoring, analysis, and service

Intelligent integration & energy management

The Sunny Tripower X 50 and X 60 feature an integrated System Manager, replacing the SMA Data Manager M. Up to five inverters and one energy meter can be centrally monitored and controlled — without any additional hardware. Monitoring, analysis, and system control are conveniently handled via the Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS.

Integrated safety features such as residual current monitoring, SMA ArcFix, and modern cybersecurity standards meet current requirements for commercial PV systems. In addition, the inverters are seamlessly integrated into the SMA Commercial Energy Solution, enabling the connection of storage systems, EV charging infrastructure, and further energy management components.

Easy installation & operation

Optimized for space-saving wall mounting, the devices weigh approximately 50.5 kg and are easy to install. Tool-free DC wiring significantly reduces installation time. Commissioning is intuitive via a web-based user interface or the SMA 360° App. An optional Roof Mount Kit also allows horizontal installation, providing additional flexibility during project planning.

As the next development step in the 50 to 60 kW power segment, the Sunny Tripower X 50 and X 60 replace the Sunny Tripower CORE1 (50 kW). Instead of a freestanding design for decentralized system layouts, the new models feature a compact string inverter design with significantly enhanced system intelligence.

Further details on the inverters, including the data sheet, technical information, instructions, and other information, can be found on the SMA product page.
