With the SolarEdge Commercial Storage System (CSS), we are adding a powerful and modular storage solution for commercial and industrial applications to our portfolio. The system is specifically designed for use in combination with SolarEdge inverters and is ideally suited for self-consumption optimization, peak shaving, backup applications, and integration into complex energy management concepts.
Two storage classes for different project requirements
The Commercial Storage System is available in two different variants, enabling precise adaptation to project-specific load profiles:

Up to two battery cabinets can be operated in parallel per inverter. In combination with multiple battery inverters, larger storage capacities and power outputs can be realized – up to the MWh range, depending on system architecture and firmware version.
Safety & resilience at system level
The Commercial Storage System features a comprehensive, integrated safety concept including active fire detection and fire suppression, ground fault and residual current protection, DC and AC surge protection, as well as a dual-string design for high system availability. This is complemented by a multi-sensor system monitoring temperature, flooding, and cabinet access.
With a 10-year product and performance warranty, the CSS-OD meets the requirements for a long-term, economically viable and operationally reliable commercial storage solution.
Integration into the SolarEdge energy management ecosystem
The CSS-OD is fully integrated into the SolarEdge monitoring and optimization platform. Via SolarEdge ONE, generation, storage, and consumption are continuously analyzed and rule-based controlled.
The system supports multiple optimization modes, including self-consumption optimization, peak shaving, and time-of-use tariffs.
In combination with optional backup and microgrid components, project-specific backup and resilience concepts can also be implemented. The centralized platform enables unified monitoring, transparent performance analysis, and efficient operational management throughout the entire system lifecycle.
Especially for incentive- or promotion-based commercial storage projects, early technical planning is recommended in order to optimally coordinate system design, delivery timelines, and installation.
