With the new Battery‑Box HVB, BYD is launching an innovative high-voltage storage system that now makes the proven Blade‑Battery technology available for home storage applications. The HVB impresses with its maximum energy density, modular flexibility, and a particularly robust safety concept — ideal for demanding self-consumption and backup solutions.

The BYD Battery Box HVB is based on cobalt-free LFP cells in the new blade design. Thanks to its high-voltage architecture, it ensures maximum storage efficiency. The HVB has a modular design: starting at 5.9 kWh (2 modules), it can be flexibly expanded in 2.97 kWh increments up to 29.6 kWh and scaled up to 89.07 kWh by connecting several towers in parallel – ideal for small homes as well as larger applications. Weighing only 27.3 kg per module and featuring integrated handles, installation is extremely easy and can be carried out by one person. The compact design also makes it easy to install in confined technical rooms.
The HVB series offers maximum operational reliability: The cobalt-free LFP chemistry is considered to be particularly thermally stable, and the reinforced housing provides optimum mechanical protection. Thanks to the extremely low temperature coefficient, performance remains stable even at high temperatures.
Thanks to the new Battery Control Unit (BCU) with intelligent battery management and automatic SOC adjustment, additional modules can be retrofitted without having to take the state of charge into account. This means less effort for the installation company: Plug-and-play assembly and remote maintenance via app or OTA updates make installation and service efficient and customer-friendly.
Another strong argument: BYD offers an extensive 15-year warranty on the HVB. This sets the system apart from many competitors and offers operators maximum security and investment protection.
Highlights at a glance:
- Blade technology with cobalt-free LFP cells for maximum safety and long service life
- Modular expandability: from 5.9 kWh to 29.6 kWh per tower, scalable to 89 kWh through parallel connection
- Easy installation thanks to 27.3 kg lightweight units with integrated handles
- Compact design for flexible installation even in confined technical rooms
- Maximum operational reliability thanks to robust housing, thermally stable cell chemistry, and very low temperature coefficients
- 15-year manufacturer's warranty for long-term investment security

The new HVS+ and HVM+
In addition to the new HVB for large projects, BYD is also launching improved “+” versions of its well-known HVS and HVM storage systems. The upgrade offers installation companies and operators greater convenience and smarter technology: Thanks to the new BCU (as with the HVB) with flexible wiring and simpler design, an optimized system setup with one-click configuration, and an enhanced app with real-time monitoring, error messages, and remote maintenance, the new HVS+ and HVM+ are even quicker to install and more convenient to operate—naturally with proven BYD quality and modular flexibility.
Similar to the HVB, the storage systems can be expanded in a modular fashion and flexibly adapted to applications ranging from private homes to larger projects by connecting up to three towers in parallel. In addition, automatic SOC adjustment also ensures that additional modules can be retrofitted at any time without adjusting the state of charge for the HVS+ and HVM+.
